Now that we have officially entered engagement season, you or someone you know might be one of the lucky ladies or gents who will be in full wedding planning mode for 2019! We know there is no shortage of ideas and wedding inspo out there from all of the gorgeous social media accounts, Pinterest boards, and even bridal magazines. It can get overwhelming! But have no fear, we are here with a consolidated lists of the best trends of 2018 and what to look forward to for the 2019 wedding season.
The Attire
Your wedding gown is likely one of the most important elements of your day. If you are searching for the perfect gown this year, it should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle’s stunning boat neck Royal Wedding gown will be a source of inspiration for many styles in the coming year. Brides in 2019 are also more likely to don statement bows, sparkle, and three dimensional florals. A trend that we are excited to see come to life is the emergence of geometric patterns and shapes in the forms and details of bridal gowns.
The bridal jumpsuit is also making its way onto the scene as more and more couples are opting for smaller, more casual weddings. If your heart is still set on a gown, consider a jumpsuit for the rehearsal dinner or after party.

As for the groom and his men, mixing and matching is expected to extend to the other side of the aisle this year. 2019 will see a focus on tailored fits, pops of colors, and more patterned materials.

The Venue
We are pleased to say that destination weddings are on the list of wedding trends for 2018 and 2019! While we have always believed in the beauty, value, and simplicity of a destination wedding, brides in 2019 are putting a new spin on things by putting an emphasis on embracing local culture and traditions. If you are planning a destination wedding, consider planning your event at a Sandals or Beaches Resort. Many of the “basics” are taken care of by wedding planners at the resorts which gives you the freedom to customize and add any cultural elements that you like. It’s a great way to get a one-of-a-kind wedding without the one-of-a-kind price tag!

The rustic barn wedding seems to be reaching the end of its run in 2018. Instead, brides in 2019 will be looking to industrial spaces, like old factories, for a similar “casual” vibe. Raw wood and metal will still have the spotlight but with a more modern twist. Natural venues will also continue to grow in popularity – another reason we believe that the stunning views of a destination wedding would be the perfect fit for your 2019 ceremony!
The Decor
In 2019, bold, bright colors will be making a return. Jewel tones like turquoise, emerald, and deep shades of purple will steal the show while traditional silver and gold will once again take over from the copper and rose gold trends in recent years. These colors will be everywhere from the florals to the table linens to the bridal party to the invitations and place cards. Florists are expecting 2019 to be the year of the dahlias. Peonies, ranunculus, and greenery will also be popular in bouquets, centerpieces, and flower walls to complement the moodier colors of the year.

A stunning decor trend that we are looking forward to is textured linens. Laser cut table cloths and other subtly patterned linens will provide an elegant level of intentional design without clashing with the bold choices of the florals and table settings. Speaking of tablesettings, mixing and matching place settings will be a notable trend both for 2019 wedding receptions and for wedding registries!

The Unplugged Ceremony
While receptions will likely still be open for sharing, many couples will choose to have an unplugged ceremony, asking guests to put away their phones and be present in the moment. Few things are less romantic than looking out into a sea of smartphone photographers as you exchange your vows so this is a trend we can fully support!

Which trends are you most excited to see this year? Will you be incorporating any into your upcoming nuptials?
